This Readme file describes the purpose and use of the IM Filtering Policy Editor that accompanies version 5.5 of Zone Alarm Security Suite.

The IM Filtering Policy Editor works in conjunction with the following members of the Zone Labs product family:
Use of the IM Filtering Policy Editor is restricted to users of Zone Labs software
for purposes of troubleshooting or resolving problems resulting from the interaction
of the Zone Labs IM Security feature with third-party programs.
Copy or transfer of the IM Filtering Policy Editor program or any associated documentation to any third party without express written consent from Zone Labs is prohibited.
The Zone Labs installation program automatically places the IM Filtering Policy Editor program imf_editor.exe in the installation folder. For ZoneAlarm products, the default installation folder is C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\.
By default, Zone Labs' IM Security feature scans all network traffic to and from a computer. Certain programs use non-standard Layered Service Provider (LSP) features that may conflict with default IM Security scanning. The IM Filtering Policy Editor allows you to specify which program files should or should not have their traffic scanned by the IM Security feature.
You must have a Zone Labs client product installed to successfully run the IM Filtering Policy Editor. Complete the following steps to selectively enable or disable IM Security traffic scanning for specific program files.
